Sunshine Daydreams off the Oregon Coast

So we're in Oregon right now.

We're hoping the weather up in the Washington mountains turns nice (or at least dry) very soon. There are a few projects we want to help my Grampa out with before we *really* hit the road (read head south for warmth), but it's just been too rainy and snowy to do much of anything yet.

It's unreal … we have seen more snow up there in a matter of weeks then we did all season in Wisconsin this year! That is some crazy shit, yo!

Anyway, Oregon! We're hanging out down by the coast for a couple of weeks. We didn't get much break in weather; it's rainy and cold here, too, but c'mon … there's a beach! And also, since we're unschoolers, we're pretty oblivious to a typical "school calendar", but apparently it happens to be Spring Break here right now, so the resort is bumping with fun activities. What What!

They hosted a Family Double Dare Night on Saturday.

We cleaned up!

CLEANED UP!

And by that, I mean … wet rags and scrubbing. We were a mess. Mostly Owen. And my tongue.

Our team didn't actually win.

But we had a great freakin time losing!

I was called up for the first solo challenge to move an Oreo from your forehead to your mouth without using your hands. Ok, Ok … I though I had this shit in the bag! I've watched Minute to Win it. I've practiced this exact challenge. I OWN THIS!!! You know what they made us do? We had to twist open the Oreo and lick the cream side before putting it on our foreheads. Making it sticky as all get out. Literally, that freakin Oreo was stuck to my forehead with such suction force that I had to turn head face down and shake vigorously just to get some movement. Of course, the vigorous shaking to budge the Oreo is eventually what caused said Oreo to fly off of me like a squirrel monkey. Damn! I tried 5 more Oreos, and this same thing happened with all of them. You'd think I'd learn, right? Haa, you'd be wrong! lol. My 6th Oreo was my favorite. She worked with me. She made her way from my forehead down to my cheek. And if it weren't for my short tongue, I'd have nabbed that bitch! Buuuut, I was about 5 seconds too late. Long tongue to my left brought home the win for his team.

And can I just say … all that Oreo licking made me sick!

We did a lot of full team events. Syrup spitting, fruit loop blowing, pie eating (or in our case, pie biting and spitting).
And Owen was called up to represent our team in a doubles event. He was the catcher, so he got to sport a lovely plastic poncho with humongous goggles. His partner, the dropper, climbed the stairs to perch on the balcony. Ready. Set. Go. Chocolate dipped marshmallows were a'flyin. You had to catch 5 in your mouth and spit into a bowl for the win. Owen caught a lot of chocolate on his face, and neck, and poncho covered head; and even one in his bowl. But again, some lad with mad marshmallow catching skillz to the left owned that shit.

It was a fun night. 3 of us won door prizes … mine being the best! And I'm not just saying that because I'm awesome. Ok, that actually has everything to do with it. It was the "big" prize of the night, and I won it. I am awesome.

And I'm at the beach!
